Is camera centered mode the only mode for Hololens?

January 28, 2019 - 2:54am #1

Hi

When tested on the computer, I can set the world's center as specific target, however, while changing to digital eyewear, the camera centered mode is the only option. Is there a way to fix the world center on Hololens (I'm currently using Unity version 2017.4.1f, which is the only compatible version for both Vuforia and Unity that I can find)?

Thank you very much.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Hence is there a way to fix an origin? On the computer, I have a simulation placed near the fixed origin and users can interact with the simulation or look around it. If device centered is enabled, the fluid simulation then needs to be placed as child of the origin (which is an image target) and enable extended tracking. This would require the origin in users'view all the time. Also, modifying the defaultTrackableEventHandler seems not working on Hololens too... is this event handler also hard coded for hololens?

Thank you very much.

Hello,

HoloLens has special requirements for Vuforia Support. Thus, the World Center Mode is hardcoded to "DEVICE" for 6DoF experiences when developing for HoloLens in Unity.

We will update our documentation accordingly.

Thanks,

Vuforia Engine Support
