ImageTargets in Gear VR not working

October 16, 2016 - 8:15am #1

Hey guys,

I've been messing around with Vuforia and Image Targets and created a simple demo that works great tracking 2 targets just using the standard ARCamera. Now I'm trying to implement the same demo using Gear VR using this article as a reference:

https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/Integrating-Gear-VR-and-the-AR-VR-Sample-in-Unity-5-3-and-above

I'm following Technique #2, but so far all I can get is a VR app with a pass-through camera (image targets aren't being recognized). I can't seem to find the TrackableParent object that needs to be added (nor the VuforiaCenterAnchor but the TrackableParent sounds like it's the primary issue). I tried building the project just making my ImageTargets children of the CenterEyeAnchor, but that didn't work.

I'm using Vuforia 6 and I know the article references 5.5 so I'm wondering if the TrackableParent functionality has been moved elsewhere, plus I can't find any mention of the TrackableParent in the Reference documentation. I'm also running Unity 5.4. If anybody has any input, I'd welcome it - thanks!

Wow, I can't believe I missed that. Thanks for the help, it's working perfectly now!

The TrackableParent is just an empty GameObject that should be created and parented to the CenterEyeAnchor. Then parent the ImageTarget prefabs to the TrackableParent.
