Moverio tracking slow

June 29, 2015 - 12:36pm #1

Tracking is very slow on Moverio BT-200.  Is anyone getting solid tracking results?

Are accelerometers/gyros being used for compensation?  Is this a processing limitation?  Or a camera refressh limitation?

Thanks,

I'm using the basic ImageTargets project with the teapot.  Tracking does not keep up with head movements and the teapot just floats around.  It comes back to the correct location after about 2 seconds of stationary head movement.  I did use a 3rd party app that uses Vuforia, and was getting good AR tracking, so it should be something in my project.

I didn't make any changes to the project.  Could there be a compiler/environment setting or something that is off?  Is there a specific Android build to target?

Thank you again!

I'm not sure if I would call the the Moverio's tracking slow; It can be a bit jittery if say your target is a wobbly piece of paper. Maybe the model being rendered has a high poly count and the graphics processing is making your tracking slow? Could that be it?
