ODG R7 poor recognition / tracking

Hi,

I'm evaluating ODG's R7 in conjunction with Vuforia/Unity.

If I#m using the (unaltered) sample StereoRendering-6-2-6.unitypackage (and the version before) I'm observing poor tracking quality.

If using the "chips&stones"-targets - printed in size A4 and taped at a wall - the recognition starts only at a very near distance (say: about 40-50 centimeters).

has anyone observed the same poor recognition ? 

If using an IOS-Device, Android-Device and also Microsoft's Hololens (same Targets & Database) I have very good recognition & tracking !

 

Whats going wrong ? Is this the camera at the ODG R7 ?

Yes, the ODG R7 camera needs to get close to the target to initiate recognition and tracking. Extended Tracking can help as you back away from the target if the scene will remain static.
