Problems with camera latency in Gear VR

Hello,

I have been working with AR / VR experiences using Vuforia and Unity for Google Cardboard with good result.

Now I have acquired a Samsung Gear VR and I followed the instructions of this guide (Technique #1): https: // library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/Integrating-Gear-VR-and-the-AR-VR-Sample-in-Unity-5-3-and-above

However, I am not able to offer a good experience since I have a lag (camera delay) when I move the head, producing a sensation of dizziness.

If in Unity Inspector > Digital Eyewear Behaviour I change Stereo Camera Config from Gear VR to Cardboard's option, the sensation improves a bit, the camera movement is less smooth, but more precise. Nevertheless it is not still acceptable.

As a final test, just to verify that it is not a problem of my mobile (a Samsung S7) I have removed the option of Virtual Reality Supported in Unity's Player Settings and I have compiled the App as if it was for Cardboard (Stereo Camera Config: Vuforia, Viewer Type: Generic Cardboard). I have put the mobile in a Google Cardboard and the result is much better, sensation of dizziness does not exist ….  But obviously , this is not an option because I need to work with Gear VR….

I would like to know if there is someone working with this kind of configuration AR/VR and experiencing this problem!

System: MAC Vuforia: Vuforia-unity-6-0-117 Unity: 5.4.1f1 Personal

Thanks!

I'm getting camera lag (and dizziness) with Google Cardboard on my Samsung S6. It's not a lot but it's enough to render the app nauseating.

I have no solution. It's a shame you didn't get a reply in over a month.

Same problem here.  I'm using the Gear VR with a Galaxy S7, I've follow the AR/VR tutorial and the app causes nausea while in the AR mode, but not in the VR.

Hi,

I'm also experiencing the same camera latency issue when running my app on Galaxy S7 edge and Gear vr. Any follow up on this?

I am having a similar experience with the same setup -- Gear and S7. Hoping to bump this for a response...
