I am trying to get a basic example with Vuforia working for cardboard viewer but the Cardboard SDK was causing all kinds of issues so I just fell back to using stereo camera on ARcamera and no Cardboard prefab. Have it working, but I'm not sure I understand entirely what's possible. I assume the AR object is supposed to be stereo but the video background texture is not since it's fed by a single lens? The side by side images look identical, not offset. Is this the expected outcome? I guess I was expecting some kind of dimensional appearance to the AR object. Also wondering what the best way to approach "hand interaction" with UI might be.
Yes I did, but like I said I was having odd issues with flickering viewports, couldn't resize them, and the background video texture wouldn't work. So I got rid of Cardboard SDK and just used the built-in ARCamera stereo options, and then everything seemed to work well (minus a few unrelated issues when trying to use particle systems, they don't seem to stay anchored to the image target.) However like I said the two images seem identical and not stereo separated. I guess I am wondering what kind of stereo is really possible with the ARCamera, is it technically just one camera in the scene, so it's dual mono?
