Urgent! Camera Input white on iOS (works in Unity simulator)

September 7, 2017 - 2:10am #1

Hello Vuforia Support,

We have an urgent matter considering the Vuforia SDK for an iOS Cardboard app developed on Unity. We have built an application that shows four objects on four tracking planes. This works well with a regular 2D AR camera (in the Unity simulator and on iOS). However we can't get it to run with a Cardboard See-Through camera. The app starts and the black mask shows up, deviding the screen into two views. But the views themselfs are just blank.

We tried to run your AR-VR-Demo Scene and worked fine inside Unity itself but caused the same issue when installed on an iOS device.

We need to show this to our customer tomorrow and right now we can only show the 2D version. Please help!

Our Unity Version is 2017.1.0f3 running on Mac. We have the latest version of Vuforia installed.

Best Regards

Hello Team11,

In order to use Cardboard with Vuforia, you will need to be on Unity 5.5 with GVR 1.10-1.40. Unity 5.6 uses a native version of GVR that is not compatible with Vuforia and Unity 2017.1 is not a supported version of Unity for Vuforia 6.2.10.

This library article goes over the steps needed to get Cardboard working with our AR/VR sample app (use Technique #2): https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/articles/Solution/Integrating-Cardboard-to-the-ARVR-Sample.html

Thanks,

-Vuforia Support
