I use the example vuforia-samples-eyewear-unity-5-5-9, and load ARVR-5-5-9.unitypackage,
with an Android Phone i can see normal AR and mono VR scene.
But as the tutorial sayes:
https://developer.vuforia.com/library/articles/Solution/Integrating-Cardboard-to-the-ARVR-Sample
Technique #1. Using Vuforia 5.5's Built-in Support for Cardboard Vuforia 5.5 introduces built-in support for Cardboard so that it is no longer necessary to import the Cardboard SDK into your project and perform the lengthy integration steps as described in Technique #2 below. The AR/VR 5.5.9 sample app is already pre-configured with the correct Cardboard settings and ready to build. If you want to enable Cardboard support in your own existing Vuforia 5.5 project, follow these steps: 1. Select the ARCamera and set the following values on the DigitalEyewearBehaviour script: Eyewear Type = Video See-Through Stereo Camera Config = Vuforia Viewer Type = Generic Cardboard (Vuforia) or Cardboard v1 (Google) 2. In the Unity Player Settings, set the Default Orientation = Landscape Left
But I cannot find "Generic Cardboard (Vuforia) or Cardboard v1 (Google)" in Viewer Type select box o ARCamera, there's only one CUSTOM only.
And there's no stereo effect with the method Technique #1 config.
why? are there bugs or incompelete functions for 5.5.9 version?

I have the same problem in Winows, no headset profiles there, in osX I have no problem, all the headset profiles are present, BUT the Zeiss VR One seems to fail to work :P

Same Problem on Windows 7. Brand new Unity Installation and Vuforia package. Screenshot for reference below, "Custom" is the only option, no "Viewer Type = Generic Cardboard".

Getting the exact same problem here,
Tried Technique 2 (which is a mind boggle with the amount of messing around). Can't for the life of me find those samples they're referring to in Technique 1.

You need to install the 32bit version of Unity 5.3 on Windows.

Ok great its working now!
But when I build and load the apk on my phone it says "Vuforia initialisation failure-missing valid app key".
I made a key from "Digital Eyewear" and added it to the AR Camera prefab in the Hierarchy.

Digital Eyewear is a slightly overloaded term on our portal. For the Vuforia License Manager, Digital Eyewear refers to optical see-through devices (for 5.5, this is ODG R-6, ODG R-7 and Epson BT-200).

Same issue here. The only option I have on "Viewer type" is "custom", after I have chosen "Video-see-through".
When I try to build and run this, I just get a black app-screen ( Nexus 5x)
My system:

If you are on Windows, you need to use the 32-bit version of Unity 5, not the 64-bit one.
Also, make sure to use a valid Mobile Device License Key, as medabit previously mentioned.
So just to be clear, on
So just to be clear, on Windows, you will not have the option to choose anything other than 'Custom' for the 'Viewer Type' unless you go through all the perlaver of installing 32 bit Unity, having to have extra un-necessary Unity versions, having to install Unity all manuallly rather than just us
