Where to start when developing an app for ODG R-7 eyewear?

December 11, 2016 - 1:36am #1

Hi, everybody.

Whole day I have been searching for a tutorial which would tell me how can I start developing an for ODG R-7 eyewear and, now, I'm a bit confused.

So these are my questions:

1. Which tool should I use for developing an app interface (for putting buttons, texts,...)? Is it Android Studio with Vuforia SDK?

2. What is Vuforia Studio used for?

3. If I have to recognize objects in my app, what should I do? Should I add Device Database with Object Targets to my Android Studio project or what?

4. What is the Unity used for, in this context?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Just one more basic (maybe silly) question.
Is it possible to style user interface on ODG Smart glasses. For example, if an object is recognized, text about that object is shown to the user. Is this possible to do with Unity and Vuforia?

Thanks in advance.

PTC has made the strategic decision to relaunch Vuforia Studio as part of the ThingWorx IoT Platform under a new name- ThingWorx Studio. ThingWorx Studio combines the power of industry-leading IoT and AR technology together in one platform specifically designed for the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Unity simplifies app creation for those with limited development experience. It simplifies the importing 3D models and rendering them.

Thanks.
