I am trying to implement the setExternalPosition function, using either a vector or a QR code on an area target that is too large too load by itself. I cannot figure out how to achieve this. Any help would truly be appreciated.

Hey there,

First you have to choose between SetExternal2DPosition or SetExternal3DPosition. The latter is helpful since you're able to set the vertical (y) axis which can help when you have an Area Target which has different heights such as multistory buildings or factories.

Next you have to make sure that the position you pass into the method is in local space. Underneath you can find an example on how to set the external position.

Vector3 relativePos = areaTargetBehaviour.transform.InverseTransformPoint(QRCode.transform.position);

externalPosition = new Vector2(relativePos.x, relativePos.z);

areaTargetBehaviour.SetExternal2DPosition(externalPosition, radius);

Hope that helps a little.
