Combining image targets with a multi target

August 16, 2019 - 12:42am #1

Hi, I have been having a tough time figuring this one out trying to help a great student of mine.

After triggering animations using image targets I would like to use a multitarget to trigger a new animation.

say Target 1 is a triangle, T2 is a square, T3 is a circle. Each have individual animations. I would like to bring them together and instead of playing the individual animation, it plays a different one because the targets were brought together as one piece (multitarget).

Does anyone have an idea about this? Would help a lot :)

Combining image targets with a multi target

Hello,

Question: For your use case, will you be using T1,  T2 and T3 at the same time as the Multi Target? If so, this will be a problem for Vuforia due to the reuse of the 2D planar target images. If the same images are used for both, the detector will become confused and not know if it is T1/2/3, or if it is from one of the "faces" of the Multi Target. Which will be detected first is unpredictable.

Note that a Multi Target is a collection of Image Targets (two or more), whose spacial relationships to one another create a single target. This relationship is defined during authoring, can be reviewed in the XML file of the downloaded device database.

Here is more information on the latter point: https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/How-To-Modify-the-Dataset-Configuration-XML-File-Outside-the-Target-Manager#How-To-Modify-a-Multi-Target-Using-its-Config-XML-File

Thanks,
