Invalid Image Target file format

July 14, 2021 - 8:31am #1

Sooo long story short, I really want to use some kind of qr code as image target.

After generating and downloading these image targets and uploading them back to the database, the format is invalid. I tried different qr codes and also converting them. But actually nothing really works.

Using other image targets works, but I really want to use qr codes. Anyone some idea what I could do or how to convert them properly to get it to work?

Hello,

The error message is indicating that the conversion to JPG has rendered the image incompatible with our services. Suggest that you use a tool, such as IrfanView, to review the image's properties to see if it meets our format requirements:

Must be 8- or 24-bit PNG and JPG formats; less than 2 MB in size; JPGs must be RGB or greyscale (no CMYK).

IrfanView can also be used to convert the QR Code into a compatible JPG file. Sometimes, one-click conversion tools assume settings that render images that are unable to be used with Engine's tools. IrfanView allows for specific settings when converting.

Thanks,

Hello,

Moving this to a more appropriate forum: https://developer.vuforia.com/forum/general-discussion/image-targets

Will look to answer there, as well.

Thanks,
