Lack of documentation, varied samples and broken links in support site

I am new to Vuforia and would like some getting started guides to help me along.

I have tried a few AR SDKs up until now and they have been much easier to use AND have been much better decumented.

I started on one SDK which got bought by Apple (you know the one) and had this up and running in no time.  We then were forced to shift onto another SDK and we chose Wikitude - again got this up and running with no issues but had to move on again as our need changed and once you look into it, they have a rather absurd licensing structure.

So here we are with Vuforia, on the surface it seems to do everything I need it to do and the pricing is very reasonable.  But how can they expect us to pick it up from scratch with the VERY limited "Getting started" guides which are of no help at all and very limited descriptions of the functions in the API references.

I had a look in the forums for suggestions on getting started guides and the advice was to copy the samples app and amend it to your own needs.  I can't believe that is the only way to utilise this SDK that there is no way to plumb it into your own app, but instead the samples are like a white label app and you have to customise that for your needs??

Furthermore, the samples app only uses the same 3D models in the augmentations but with different tracker techniques so does not give any guidance on how to overlay other content types onto the augmentation, I found references to other samples which do video overlay for example, but all the links are broken and you get an "Oops, we couldn't find the page" message instead (just see this forum's community guidelines for an example of the proliferation of dead links on this "support" site).

Given the very low-level nature of the SDK it seems absurd that there is little to no useful documentation and the samples are not inclusive enough to help with different scenarios despite the SDK providing massive flexibility.

Sorry, this has turned into a rant but I am left very frustrated by the dead links and hours spent pawing over the samples app just be be left frustrated.

Does anyone else feel this way?  Are there actually any decent guides out now for getting started with simple AR using Vuforia or do I just have to ask a question in the forum each time I need to progress?

If you read this far, thank you and again, apologies for the rant - please help!
