Multi back camera support?

That picking a device camera question again.

I'm aware as of Vuforia 8.1, the front camera isn't supported.  Is there a known reason for this?  I don't see in the release notes.  Besides Vuforia saying they will be deprecating it.



Main question, I need a wider angle for my app for the project I'm working on.

Ok, the front camera support is removed... but what about using the ultra-wide angle back camera instead of the normal back camera for tracking??



CameraDevice.CameraDirection no longer exists, is there anyway to use the wide angle back camera??  Do I have to roll back to Vuforia 8.0.# to use any other camera?

Any insight would be super helpful!

Hi Kevin,

Unfortunately we do not support camera selection. In earlier Vuforia versions, as you mention, we did support selecting the Front camera however this was removed later on.

This would fall in the bucket of new enhancement requests. The good thing is I can confirm that this has been brought to Product Managements attention and will be reviewed. The not so good thing, I don't have a timeline :).

Has this been added as a feature? I need the ultra-wide camera for an application on the newest iPad and I don't know how to select that camera in Unity...
