Prevent camera object to zoom/crop image

April 7, 2015 - 2:26am #1

Not sure if this is the correct section for this - if not feel free to move the thread.

We are experiencing problems with the camera zooming in / croping the original picture captured from the webcam. We have noticed that the picture correlates to the screensize/image size of the game window. How can we make sure that the image displayed will be the full image captured by the camera? We are currently rendering the camera picture to a RenderTexture which is serialized to another client. I have attached a screenshot of the problem where you can see the plane with the original webcam plane and the preview of the camera. We do not really want to rescale the camera as this would cause issues with other webcams/android devices most likely?

Thanks in advance

Could yo please confirm which device and SDK version are you using? + what feature? Image target? Is this developed natively or unity?

Also could you please try and run the Core samples on the same device and let me know if the issue is reproducible?

Thank you.

We are also having a issue with the zoom while using the rendered app on apple devices while on android works just fine.

The problem is that a zoom is apply ass soon as the targuet is detected. Its probably just a matter of configuration but i cannot detect the Issue.

The images shows exactly the problem. The vide has to be reproduced only in the size of the original image on the screen. The text on the left has to be visible and instead the video reproduces full screen . Hope someone can help.

Vuforia has preset resolutions that is uses that are customized to different devices. These are completely independent of the native resolution capable of the device. Vuforia's HD mode is 720p (1280x720) and will automatically be used if the device has an HD camera and a quad-core GPU. You can select between Vuforia's presets on the ARCamera. The image may appear zoomed with respect to native camera, since Vuforia will zoom into the image enough to fill any blank areas on the screen due to differences in aspect ratio.
