Problem with download selected trackables?

March 2, 2012 - 1:07pm #1

Is there a limit on the number of trackballs that can be included in a project resource?

We have a number of images in our project. When we include more than about 30 trackable images the system just sits in the wait icon when we attempt to download trackables.

We are using Safari 5.1.3 on OS X Lion

Steps to duplicate:
1) Select multiple images
2) Select download selected trackables
3) Select SDK Option, provide name and press continue
4) Please wait dialogue shows with error in status bar - One error in opening page
5) Safari activity window shows 'The request timed out'
6) Need to close Safari to stop process.

Hi, could you start a new Thread, as we risk to deviate from the original issue. Thanks.

Problem with download selected trackables?

I've uploaded the target but "processing" displays for long time, what can I do?  Is there any problem with my image?

We tried on Safari 1.5.3 running on OS X Lion (10.7.3) with the results described. We are an Apple shop and that configuration is on most of our machines.

We did try on IE 8.0.6001.18372 on an Windows XP SP3 but the dialogue box to display the SDk options is always blank/empty so we could not proceed to the point of failure.

Installed Firefox 10.0.2 and this works fine... thanks. Is there any further information we can provide to help resolve with Safari as this is our company standard?

We are looking at integrating the AR SDK with our illumiEye™ retail marketing solution (QR Codes, BarCodes and high volume curated image recognition - www.appsherpas.com) and are exploring it's capabilities and limitations.

In addition, we are working with an Assistive Technology (UK Healthcare) consultancy which would involve a large number of images (all very small) and it would be great to better understand any image volume limits or considerations in your solution that might exist for target scanning (we are familiar with general image recognition technology through our existing curated image recognition service in illumiEye™).

Any thoughts or documentation that you can suggest would be welcome as all the examples of current use seem to reference single or very low volume image targets.

Graeme

I'll check on that. Do you happen to have another browser installed that you can try with?

Hi David, almost immediately, therefore does not look like purely a time out. Increased the number of images into the dataset until it failed and it seemed to break at around 30 images (although not consistent)

I click the continue button after select SDK and providing a file name e.g. Symbol.zip. The dialogue window disappears and the error message displays on the status bar.

I am then left with the Please wait... dialogue with the spinning icon. I have to close the browser tab to get out and open again.

The time out message is displayed in the Safari Window Activity dialogue.

I've managed to download all the images but only if I download as two separate trackables with about 30 in one group and the remainder in the second.

No the dataset isn't restricted in that way. If the connection to the TMS is timing out, then this may be due to high demand. I'd advise trying again later.

How long is it until you get the timed-out message?
