Reccord a video

November 17, 2011 - 1:21am #1

Hi all,

Did anyone succeed recording a video with QCAR alone or with the Unity Plug-in. I already done the photo capture and I think the video capture is too heavy for mobile devices but I would be interested to knowing your thoughts.

Thanks!

Hi Stefann,

Thank you for your answer. That's basically the solution I use... Shame there is nothing like this in the SDK... I opened a thread about it here:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8170523/create-video-from-images

but not successful so far.

hey,
as far as i know there is no integrated video recorder. i basically saved single images in .png format to the sd-card. i know not an ideal solution but the best one i found to do it directly from unity. i guess another way would be on a rooted device to have a screenrecorder running parallel to the program. well, not a solution built for clients but for testing purpose it should work.

Hi stefann,

I wonder how did you managed to create a video from the unity player. Is there a kind of media recorder in it? I cannot find how to create a video with the Android SDK. The only video source allowed by the mediaRecorder is a camera. I can't find how to use frames as an input source.

Hi Stefan,

Thank you for your answer. I thought the result would be something like that. I don't have a solution yet, but I'll keep you posted if I found one.
