Recognize only real image

July 30, 2013 - 7:38am #1
I wonder if there is a way to identify an image (as a note of $ 1), but does not recognize this same image if it is on a monitor or a TV.

Is there any way around this problem? My idea is to make the user find some specific figure, but that is not possible he get this image through the internet and recognize through the computer screen.

I appreciate any help.

Thank you,

Tiago De Gaspari.

No - because Vuforia will not see any difference.

I don't want to recognize the image on a screen, only the real image (in the real world).

In my application, I want:
If the image is in the real world => Recognize
It the image is on a screen => Don't recognize

Is it possible?

Thanks for the reply.

Hi, in general you should be able to recognize an image which is displayed on a screen, provided that the screen resolution and brightness levels are adequate for your image.

However, for banknotes (e.g. 1 $)  this may be challenging as the banknotes typically include very special graphical pattern which simply "disappear" if the image is resampled at a lower sampling rate (i.e. resolution of the screen).

So, that could be the source of your issue.
