SDK for Unity - Old versions

March 30, 2016 - 11:32pm #1

Does anyone have the Vuforia SDK for Unity version 5.0.10?  Unfortunately, Vuforia does not provide access to previous versions of SDK's.

Thanks!

If you click on the release notes on any version that ends in .0 (ie. 2018.2.0, 2018.1.0, etc.) it will take you to a page where you can download all the individual tools for that version of Unity.

This came in handy when I updated Vuforia and Extended Tracking became noticeably worse in version 7.2, I was able to go to the release notes for 2018.1.0 of Unity and get the 7.1.31 version of Vuforia which is much better for Extended Tracking.

Hope this helps someone someday.

yes I have tried this method, and it works in some versions of unity only

there was a certain period in the past, vuforia had a cooperation contract with Unity, so some versions of Unity have Vuforia built-in, so you can download the old version of Vuforia Engine from the Unity Installer in the Unity Archive

How:

1. go to https://unity3d.com/get-unity/download/archive

2. Look for the Unity version which ranges from 2017.x, 2018.x, 2019.x (remember, only some Unity versions provide Vuforia Built-in, you have to find one by yourself)

3. Press "Download (Win)", select Unity Installer

4. Open "UnityDownloadAssistant.exe", then next

5. When prompted to "Select Components", check "Vuforia Augmented Reality Support", then next

6. select Specified Location "Download to" then select your destination folder

7. The Vuforia Engine download process will run

8. If the download is complete, an error will occur because Unity is not found to be installed Vuforia, leave it alone, close everything. Because we only need the Vuforia Engine file that we have downloaded

9. Vuforia Engine file will be in ".exe" format, so we need to extract the file with 7zip to make it an accessible folder inside

10. after extracting, open the folder and look for the file with .unitypackage , that's the Vuforia Engine you want!

i don't know which version of vuforia i want to download, you have to try download some unity version one by one to get the right one.

It is not possible to get a newer version of Vuforia Engine because Vuforia no longer has an exclusive contract with Unity (not built-in like it used to be). I don't know, maybe because Unity now has their own AR Engine or a contract with another AR company
