shinny image target

 shinny image target

I have an image target that has a reflective component to it.
So part of the image has silver foil on it.
It show up as a 5 star tracker, but because some of it has a reflective foil it really does not track all that well.
Should I paint that part of the image all black or all white?

So the real image would have the fiol, but the tracking  picture I upload to the data base is all white or black on the shinny part is?
would that help the tracking?  Any other idea about how to make shinny things work better?

thank you

You'll have to experiment. Removing the reflective areas from the submitted target image may help. But you also need to be aware of the lighting conditions. Beyond the loss of detail in the reflective areas, bright specular reflections can play havoc with the camera's white balance.
