Using Smart Terrain with no target

I have my team trying to set up a game the way you have on this video https://youtu.be/UOfN1plW_Hw with no target like a soda can or image being laid out. In the video you have them just scanning an area and then it scans the objects to create the terrain. We for the life of us cannot find any documentation on this. Is this still possible with your current SDK or Unity or was this just glimpse into the future of vuforia?Thank you,Ryan Behnke
