VR camera view instead of normal

I don't know if anyone has come across this: I built a quick demo app with vuforia in unity for android but when I built it the display was that of VR. I mean it had 2 camera images and distorted just like the cardboard would have. I checked and I did not have stereo camera enabled. Also when I did enable (for testing) stereo camera, the viewports became 4.

Have you got any clue on what is wrong here?
