Vuforia play mode problem

Hello, everybody.

I'm having a problem setting up a simple project in Unity(+Vuforia): When adding the ARCamera from Vuforia's prefabs it keeps telling me the message: "An error ocurred while trying to enable Vuforia play mode" at the Web Cam Behaviour component, so I can't test my project with the computer camera. I'm working with the following especifications:

  • Windows Vista, 64-bit.
  • Unity 4.6.5f1
  • Vuforia SDK 4.2.3

I've been searching through the forums, library and the web for an answer; I just found that Vuforia isn't supported in Windows XP. I've tried using others versions of Unity (4.6.3, 4.6.4) and external USB webcams, but it didn't worked at all.

Is Vuforia 4.2.3 not supported in Vista anymore?  Is there any way to look at the code of the Web Cam Behaviour component other than the script WebCamBehaviour.cs? Or is there a way to find out more about the error: "An error ocurred while trying to enable Vuforia play mode"? What should I do?

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I have the same problem. You had succes to fix the problem? I attach a photo of this problem.

Thanks

Hey, buddy.

Yes, it looks like Vuforia isn't supported anymore on Windows Vista OS. No official information has been said, but I've switched to Windows 7 and there wasn't any problem. Sorry.

However, if you manage to make it work on Vista, tell us here.

To be clear:

you can use your Windows 64bit OS;

it's just that you need to download the 32bit Editor of Unity 5 (this will work perfectly on your Win 64bit OS installed on your PC).

In Vuforia 5.0.5, 5.0.6 and newer versions, the webcam profile XML is located under the 'Assets/Vuforia/Editor/' folder.
