Vuforia Pricing.

Hi, need clarification since new pricing module was release with Vuforia 6.

I need to know if we still can develop using Vuforia for free now? Before this, the free version came with watermark, and Im not sure if that option still available.

All the app I created was never for commercial use, all are for educational and demo purposes, and also teaching students how to develop AR app, and some of it needed to be publish to complete the course. Please do let me know if not possible anymore so we can look elsewhere for better option.

Thanks.

Hello,

The 1000 download limit is applicable to applications deployed using Vuforia 6.

Thanks

I also would like to know what is going to happen to old apps which are already published in Google play with free license and have more than 1000 downloads?

Hello,

Yes, you can still develop apps for free under our Development license.

The basic terms for the free licensing are that an app is only for consumer use and has less than 1,000 app installs can be distributed in app stores with a Development license. A paid license is required for a Consumer app with more than 1,000 installs. Ok now i see it . Thanks medabit.

I havent seen much discussion on this limit. Previously in vuforia 4 when pricing changed there was a lot of hot discussion on that. I think people are not aware of this limit. It is a hard blow on small projects. So i think it would be nice if it is mentioned in the pricing page itself, in one row saying that developement license can have only 1000 installs.

Hello,

Please see section 2.2 of the Vuforia Developer Agreement:

Quote:

2.2. Standard License. A Standard license is required for Developer Applications that will have more than 1,000 App Installs and do not require a Special Use License.

Thanks

Can you clarify this 1000 app install limit. I cannot see this info anywhere in pricing, faq or pricing page.
