Hi,
I've tried the object recognition feature and created a target in the Target Manager. Based on that, I created a new Unity project for Android as per your instructions on the homepage. The respective license key is entered correctly.
Unfortunately, I constantly get the notification "Unable to contact server. Please try again later." or "Network connection not available", though I already have a network connection and am able to access the Vuforia developer websites in the browser of the tablet I am using.
I am testing on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Edition 2014 (SM-P600) with Android 4.4.2.
Is there anything I can do to work around this issue/bug?
Object Reco on Android: "Unable to contact server"
Just as a quick test,
could you try importing one of the Vuforia Samples (for example, the Image Targets sample unitypackage) in a fresh new project,
and copy-paste your App Key into the ARCamera of the sample scene and build and run again ?

Hi, thank you for your reply!
Object Reco on Android: "Unable to contact server"
Great to hear !
and nice catch! BTW: was it failing in Play Mode (webcam) too, or only when you were running on device ?
Object Reco on Android: "Unable to contact server"
No, the issue did only occur on the device, not in the play mode!

Make sure your device has a more or less proper time & date. If it is several weeks or months off of the true date, the verificaiton of the SSL certificate will fail. This will present itself as an "unable to connect to server" error.
