Ground Plane And Cylinder Target

Hi,

 

 I am wondering how I can mix ground plane detection with cylinder targets?

 Let's say we have a bottle of coke as a cylinder target, and I want to detect if the bottle is on the table or of the user is holding it in his hands. if I could detect both, then I could put proper shadows on all the augmented 3d content around the detected cylinder target.
