Ground Plane + Buttons

Is it possible to have something like Virtual Buttons for a Ground Plane?

 

I have an app using Image Target and would like to use Ground Plane instead.

As far as I know, virtual buttons only work on image targets. They work by checking any obstructed features of the image target, as the ground plane doesn't have any predefined features, it probably won't work.
