Ground Plane Tracking

January 24, 2020 - 6:14am #1

I am using the Vuforia 8.6.7 version. When model is deployed on Shiny and Rough Surface, the deployed jitters and slides and also, the model resizes. The client has access to only such shiny surfaces, is there any possible ways to optimise the ground detection?

I confirm that in my experience shiny surfaces are to be avoided, as well as limited brightness.

As with many other technologies, there are requirements to be met for proper operation.

The same rule applies to AR. In implementing this technology you must design the environment in which you will use AR technology, measuring light and using adequately opaque surfaces. Just like in the theater, acoustics must be designed.

It is the only way at the moment to obtain satisfactory results that are not affected by the effects of sliding, zooming, random re-positioning.

For glossy surfaces I use cylinder targets that allow you to go around the object more easily than with a targetimage.

I hope I have helped you.

Feel free to write me for further information.

Unfortunately shiny surfaces do present issues, basically it affects the recognition of the plane manager, hence you will get this types of behaviors.

Could you please let me know the device you used?

Thank you.
