The objects move when the camera moves

December 28, 2018 - 12:44pm #4

Hello

I made a project with Plane Ground in which I put a 3d object on a surface, but when moving the object it also moves a bit.

Try the basic example of ARCore (using the same 3d object) and do not move anything, it stays exactly in place.

I already configure ARCore with Vuforia.

What can I be failing? Or is it normal for Vuforia not to walk like Arcore?

Hello,

Vuforia SDK prioritizes platform CV providers (ARKit, ARCore) over Vuforia VIO. By default, if ARCore is installed on a device, Vuforia will use ARCore for Ground Plane functionality. Thus, you should see similar performance on the same device (because Vuforia is using ARCore). By default, our samples demonstrate this.

If you've configured your app to *not* use ARCore, or if ARCore is not installed on the device, you may be able to use Vuforia VIO. Although Vuforia VIO's performance may not be directly comparable to ARCore, we continue to make improvements in the upcoming Vuforia 8.0 SDK release (mid-Jan 2019).

Thanks,

What would be a good way to enforce FUSION_PROVIDER_PLATFORM_SENSOR_FUSION in Unity?

PS:

"Vuforia SDK prioritizes platform CV providers (ARKit, ARCore) over Vuforia VIO."

This is not the result we are seeing from Vuforia 7.5.25. ARCore is not being enabled by default and we tried the settings suggested on your developer portal. It seems like an ongoing issue for other devs here.

We are using ARCore 1.3, on Android with Unity 2018.3.0f2

Thanks for all the help.

Sorry, not sure I understand the question. The API is provided so that developers can make informed decisions about UX elements, such as can I offer Ground Plane on a particular device or do I need a different experience.

That's a rather old version of ARCore. Any chance you can upgrade to the latest version? Also, please provide the model of the device you're using.
