How do I get into the early access program to be able to run vuforia+unity on HoloLens?

Right now I get "Vuforia Initialization Error" .."app key is not valid for this product" and I created the key for "Device: Digital Eyewear"

Hello,

Vuforia 6 EAP support for HoloLens does not support the HoloLens Emulator.

Thanks deanstanfield for the tip! The EAP sample does indeed work perfectly with Unity 5.4.0f3, once you show it the targets!

How silly, I somehow thought that the Unity Scenes "Splash" and "Loading" would display something visible on the Hololens. I don't know maybe a Vuforia 'Splash' or 'Loading' message on startup of the App?

For anyone else having trouble, you can find the printable targets in the sample folder located in the Unity project folder directory: Assets/Editor/Vuforia/ForPrint/

I have it working with Unity 5.4.0f3-HTP, using just the HoloLens unitypackage. It's meant to be blank until you see something detectable. Load up chips_scaled or stones_scaled and you should see a teapot.

I am unable to get the vuforia-samples-hololens-unity-6-1-9-earlyaccess sample to work either.

Following the Sample Documentation, the app builds and deploys to the Hololens with no errors. The app starts and the 'Made in Unity' logo displays for about 5s at which point the Hololens display goes completely blank.

I have tried building with Unity 5.4.0f1-HTP and also with Unity 5.4.0f3-HTP. (I was unable to install the older 5.4.0b24 version of the HTP)

Any ideas on what might be the problem? Does this only work with b24 of the Unity HTP?

Could you clarify what you mean by hololens 24 build? I am having difficulty running the sample on my device. it deploys, but crashes shortly afterwards.

I am also having difficulty with the Vuforia 6 sample for Hololens. Everything looks fine and I have no warnings when I deploy to my device. However, my app will crash shortly after starting up. Is anyone else having the same issues? It appears to work when I play it in Unity. I have followed the sample instructions dozens of times now.

Got it working after enabling VR in the player properties, upgrading to the hololens 24 build, double checking each step in the instructions, and then making sure I had the sample images in front of me (I think that is what the error was referring too in regards to tracking).

I had that error initially. First when I did not have the app key assigned in the ARCamera object's key property.  And then also when I built to local machine rather than to the device.

I think on the device you should be fine.

That said, while on the device I am getting the following error on startup:

"Could not initialize the tracker." And it just shows a black screen in a UWP window.
