Hey,guys

I recently started my HoloLens project, but my VS dropped the following error item when using the official example. How can I solve this problem? Thanks

KernelBase.dll ERROR

Hello,

Vuforia Engine SDK *does not* require an Internet connect to operate. It is recommended though as we provide device specific patches that are downloaded when Vuforia is initialized. If there is a network failure (network unreachable, cannot resolve hostname), Vuforia will fail silently.

@AnselmK - The post you referenced is from 2011 and our SDK has evolved quite a bit since that time. The improvement she referenced was implemented long ago to make the download of device specific patches asynchronous with Vuforia Engine SDK init. As of 7.2 Engine SDK, we made this action synchronous in order to insure the greatest number of devices support Vuforia features, but have still provided a way to disable this behavior by setting the following hint before initializing:

Vuforia: VuforiaUnity.SetHint(VuforiaHint.HINT_ASYNC_FETCH_OF_LATEST_CALIBRATION, 1);

Thanks,

I have exactly the same problem. The project worked fine when my HoloLens was still connected to the internet. Unfortunately this is a deal-breaker for us as we require the app to work without access to the internet (as there is no internet available where we want to use our app).

I assume this has to do with the data that needs to be downloaded on the first run as posted here: https://developer.vuforia.com/forum/qcar-api/internet-access-qcar-initialization#comment-5943

In that post Kim wrote: "We are working on improving this for a future release." So is it possible by now to somehow work around this problem?
