Optical see through license invalid?

There isn't much in the way of HoloLens specific documentation currently, and I'm getting this when I try and launch the unity sample on the hololens: "Vuforia App key is not valid for this product. Please get a valid key, by logging into your account at developer.vuforia.com and choosing the right product type during project creation". Is optical see through not the right option? Is there additional setup options that should be chosen before building out to the hololens?

UPDATE: it appears that both types of developer licenses currently do not work, not sure if this is intended but it's a big problem

Hello,

You are correct that the Digitial Eyewear key should be used for HoloLens devices. A mobile key will not work on the platform.

We are also running into this awful issue after following the available documentation for hololens / vuforia project setup in Unity. No image recognition in the hololens - just the error 'Vuforia initialization failed: Vuforia App key is not valid for this product" in the debug log.

It appears that if you download the hololens sample, a license will work. Can't find an explanation anywhere for *why* only the sample works but it works. However, the tracking updates something like once every 2 seconds, it's hideously slow. Another issue, but still not exactly promising

Hello,

Can you confirm that you are running the 6.1.9 version of the HoloLens EAP Unity Extension?

Thanks

Hello,

We tried your license in our setup and it functioned fine. I will still try to create a repro case using your license to see if it fails.

Note that there is anecdotal evidence on the forum that digital eyewear license keys are working for other HL devs:

I said several posts ago that it's running on our hololens now (although only when using the sample projects), the performance is just abymsal compared to even the android version of vuforia.

We were not running 6.1.9 (were using 6.0.112.) After upgrading to 6.1.9 the error is no longer happening and we are now able to detect images on the cloud repo. Thank you!
