Hello,
We are considering upgrading our iOS app from Vuforia 5 to 6, which means we will have to accurately re-answer Apple's questions when submitting the new version of the app, including for any third-party libraries we link against. I cannot find this important information on the developer website, so could you please confirm the following: * Does the Vuforia library contain encryption code, even if the functionality is provided by the OS? * Does the Vuforia library make use of the advertising identifier (IDFA)?
App builds can be permanently removed from the App Store if the submitting developer answers certain questions incorrectly, hence the importance of reliable information.
When I asked Vuforia support about this for SDK 5, your responses were as follows (but back then Apple did not ask about the IDFA, so that is a new requirement).
Apple's questions: 1) Is your product designed to use cryptography or does it contain or incorporate cryptography?
Answer: Yes, our product does incorporate cryptographic functionality.
2) Does your product qualify for any exemptions provided under category 5 part 2?
Answer: Yes, we qualify for exemption as a "mass market product".
It would be useful if you stated this information with each release you make of the SDK, by the way, because it is relevant to all iOS app developers who are submitting to the App Store.
Many thanks.
Hello HohmannTransfer,
Hello HohmannTransfer,
The previous answers provided have not changed.
Vuforia does not make use of the IDFA.
Please let me know if you have any further questions on this.
Thanks,
