I need to know the following, would it be possible to use Unity to build a 3d scene with interactions, and then only export or save the scene and then have Vuforia pull it in from the server and use it as the scene in Vuforia.

This is what Unity allows by using asset bundles, however you are best off reading about this over at Unity and within their documentation

...plus worth learning about prefabs.

What I mean about prefabs here is the instantiation of those constructs that allow Vuforia to do its job.  If you look at an image target within a scene it is made up of a number of different components (scripts, targets etc.) that coordinate with each other and formulate what is called a prefab.

In order to construct a scene on the fly you would need to have the basic scene stored as an asset bundle, which after it is downloaded and instantiated, you would need to supplement with the Vuforia prefabs.

Hope this makes sense.

So you are saying that it would be possible to export the scene from Unity, have it on a server and then write code that would pull it onto the device for Vuforia to use provided you construct the Vuforia prefabs on the fly.

By prefabs do you mean the vuforia classes that handle the integration of the scene with Vuforia.

Hi Pictivate

"have Vuforia pull it in from the server"

That's not what Vuforia does, so you'll have to write that part yourself.

Also, it will be a little bit more involved because asset bundles do not currently support Vuforia prefabs, meaning that you will need to construct these on the fly.
