Conversion of png to texture in Image Targets App

I downloaded the QCAR sdk for ios and executed the Image Target app. I need to understand the concept of png to texture conversion of TextureTeapotBrass and TextureTeapotBlue. png image. Can we create the texture for some other image and replace it with teapot image ? Help!
