Failed to initialize QCAR because this device is not supported for iPad 1

I have run the Unity extension and done the following: 1) created a bundle identifier 2) created a Ad Hoc provision and assigned that to my organiser in xcode 3) created an archive with adhoc selected 4) create the ipa file 5) install it on the iPad 1 and i get the following error when it is 3/4 of the wayg loading 'Failed to initialize QCAR because this device is not supported' any ideas?
