Getting "Application initialisation failed" error

July 29, 2011 - 11:05pm #1

Hello,

I just installed the iOS QCAR SDK and trying to run sample application on my 3GS device (4.1 SDK).

The movement I launch the app I am getting "Application initialisation failed"

Please help to solve this issue. I know 3GS is not supported, but is there any way I can change some thing in SDK code to make it run (just for testing)

Same problem here with iPod touch (4th generation)
Software Version 4.3.5

Internet connection is available, so I guess the problem is point 2)

Hi,

When the Qualcomm AR library first runs in an app, it has to collect the device configuration profile from the Qualcomm AR server, based on the device type and iOS version. Thus one of two problems spring to mind:

1) The app can't access the Qualcomm AR server across the internet - is the device connected? I've checked, and the server is up and running.

2) The device type and iOS version is not one we have provided a configuration for.

If resolving 1) still fails, please advise us of your device type and iOS version.

I am having the same problem.

Here is the problem in detail:

- The device is an 8Gb iPod Touch 4th Generation (front and back cameras) with Wifi connected (Internet works fine)

- The ImageTarget sample application has been built in XCode 4.1 running on OSX 10.7 (Lion)

- The application installs to the device and a splash screen starts up
with the words ImageTarget

- The error message "Application Initialization failed" pops up and then the app crashes.

- The following is displayed in the console logs:

Anyone know how to fix this? Something simple or complicated?

The same sample runs successfully on an iPad2 built on the same system.
