How to overlay UIView on image target? 2017 updates?

All,

More than a year ago I was looking into vuforia as a way to transform native UIViews onto image targets.

Such a simple idea, right?

If I have a UIView with a UITableView in it, I'd like to virtually overlay that table view onto the target sitting on the table in front of me, etc.

I can't find any references to how that would be done.  I found one old thread that I had issues with a year ago.  Is there any support for such capabilities yet?
