iOS 8 Camera Access

February 6, 2015 - 8:45am #1

In iOS 8, I'm getting a crash even when the user selects "OK" for the camera access.  Specifically I get a EXC_BAD_ACCESS on this line:

 glDrawElements(GL_TRIANGLES, (GLsizei) m_uParticleIdx*6, GL_UNSIGNED_SHORT, 0);

I've read https://developer.vuforia.com/forum/ios/ios-8-xcode-6-and-vuforia-30-compatibility

But is there a way to fix it without resorting to asking the user before they open the camera portion of the app?

Thanks

You can either follow the tutorial here (for Vuforia 3.0):

 https://developer.vuforia.com/forum/ios/ios-8-xcode-6-and-vuforia-30-compatibility

or you can upgrade to Vuforia 4.0 (currently in Beta) which will automatically check for Camera Access as soon as the Vuforia initialization takes place;

also, the samples in 4.0 include some example of error handling in case the access is denied by the user.

You can download Vuforia 4.0 beta from here:
