iOS App to AR game communication

November 21, 2012 - 1:27am #1

Hi,

I am new to Vuforia, I have been trying bit on Augumented Reality(AR) for iPhone using Unity3D extentions. I need your help related to issue with sample application that I am trying out.

I have button in application main menu on clicking it will load the my AR game through unity3D, I could achive this some how. But I would like to add quit button in AR game on clicking it it should quit the AR game and come back to my native iOS application main menu. I could communicate to my app from the game through shared [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] where I am polling for a value of perticluer key in may App, if it is set I am trying to quit the AR game by calling "UnityCleanup" but it crashes. How can I achive this.

Thanks and Regards

Lina

Hi Lina

So basically you are trying to combine a native iOS app with a unity generated project right?

A few people have had success here, so you might want to try searching the forums here and elsewhere:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4272413/mixing-unity-generated-code-with-objective-c-in-ios

Regarding adding a quit button, have a look at the Image Targets Unity application which has buttons that appear when you tap the screen - these are used to change the dataset and set other options.
