The new iPhone 7 Plus has two cameras and Apple has shown in their recent presentation that they can compute a depth image from the video streams (image attached). I wonder if the Vuforia team could say something about the roadmap for integrating this into Vuforia. The benefits of having a depth mask for markerless tracking, 3D scanning and object recognition seems obvious.
It puzzles me why Apple didn't show the iPhone 7 Plus models potential for augmented reality in their presentation. Better selfies seemed like the most important feature. Very disappointing.

Kudan which is a competitor to Vuforia, had this to say on the subject:

They say it really doesnt work, which explains why Apple didnt promote it.
