[Noob] How to change the "pot" image in the "ImageTargets" example?

March 22, 2012 - 4:53am #1

Hello all.

Today, I download the SDK and the ImageTargets example. All works fine.

Now, I would like to make changes.

I upload some trackable images.

How I can "insert" my .xml and my .dat into the app? I do it following the instructions and I obtain an alert message " " :(

In the other hand, I would like to show another image/object. How can I do it?

I am very noob and I read the forum, but I am very lost
I need a "step by step" guide o example ....

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards.

To add a new target, as you have done, create and download one from the MyTrackables section of the web pages.

Add the .xml and .dat to the app bundle.

Add the .xml file name to the list of targets in the app delegate (assuming you're using the 1.5 sample apps as a basis). If you want it to be the default loaded dataset make sure it's the first in the list.

To replace the teapot, you need to work with a 3D modelling tool or a 3D modeller, who can provide you with the 3D model. There are a number of tools out there to convert 3D file formats to C or ObjectiveC data statements, but ultimately you'll probably want to load models from storage so you'll want to handle a file format.

I'd recommend looking at generic OpenGL and OpenGL/iOS forums for that information.
