Is there any tutorial available to show the camera with my custom list of POI's with this SDK? I also would like to have those markers customized the way I wanted to.

I only mentioned FastCV as an alternative to OpenCV due to your concens regarding compatibility.

Vuforia has enough functionality itself.

sir, what is the role of fast cv...is it necessary to use fast cv with vuforia.can vudoria (QCAR) android.does vuforia android have not enough functionalities to handle AR..

and for sure in comning days i will try to merge open cv with AR and will give u the complete explanation..

Not sure.

Have you tried using Qualcomm's FastCV?

https://developer.qualcomm.com/mobile-development/mobile-technologies/computer-vision-fastcv

..as this should work with Vuforia.

Vuforia is limited to Android and iOS.

SDK & dev guide links. Try all the samples and understand the technology and experiment with it.

https://ar.qualcomm.at/sdk

https://ar.qualcomm.at/developer_guide

For Gimbal follow the link I gave earlier - download the code and try it out.

Dear sir,

Can i use vuforia for live web cam,or vuforia is limited to Android and IOS.Can u suggest me how to start learning vuforia from scratch because i am toatally new in this field.

How to merge Gimbal SDK with vuforia.

Hi,

We believe Vuforia is best in class.

Yes you can use it for GEO purposes and for this you can use an additional SDK, and it is worth checking out Qualcomm's GImbal SDK for this purpose. I think from memory the SDK has an example which links with Vuforia.

https://www.gimbal.com

As for your other questions, can I suggest spending a few days going through the SDK, trying some samples, reading the dev guide etc. and that way you will be in a better position to answer your own question?

can i use it for GEO location pupose and one more thing is vuforia is more efficient than Layar or other SDK

Hi

Not sure what you are trying to do, but Vuforia is focussed around AR technology. Specifically identfication, tracking and augmentation within a 3D environment created in conjunction with the camera video feed.

For anything else you will need to add your own SDK / features.

Can i able to change the point of intrest(POI) dynamically, and i wanted to change the language on user's demand,Is it possible to do so.

Re: Poi

No, Vuforia is specifically for recognising known targets in the vicinity of the user.

If you know where that target is uniquely in the world, say a unique poster on a wall, then from its pose you can work out your location, orientation etc. But that's different from Layar.

You are absolutely right. Is this supported by Vuforia? I think I am trying to do the same as Layar.

Re: Poi

It sounds like you are trying to implement a different kind of AR. I believe you need to know the user location and orientation of the screen/camera so you can superimpose POIs (known by their GPS psoition) on the view? Like Layar, Wikitude et al.

Is that correct?

Vuforia will recognise a 'known' image or pre-defined marker and tell you where that is within the camera view, so you can overlay it with 3D objects of your choice. It can be used to recognise and track billboards, adverts, magazine pictures, book covers, etc.

Still not clear where to look for. My app will do the following:

- User opens the app
- Shows the camera with overlay markers which shows the nearest POI (point of interest) like google maps but with reality

Can I do that with Vuforia?

Hi marumugam6,

Please take a look at the SDK web pages - there is a lot of material there telling you the capabilities of Vuforia.

Vuforia currently uses a developer specified image (ImageTarget) or a standard marker (FrameMarker) to track. It sounds like you want an ImageTarget based solution - you can create your own data set for a given image or set of images in the MyTrackables section of the web site.
