Printed Markers

Hi, we are creating an App using the Frame Markers as Trackables. We noticed that when we track the images on an LCD (LED backlit) Monitor the marker regognition is significantly better than on the paper prints. Even with sufficient ambient light the markers are hard to track. Is there any guide line for the Marker content or surrounding that should be considered when printing the frame markers? Any ideas how to improve this?
