is it possible to publish things to an android device when using the iOS Beta? I managed to compile and publish, but my galaxy tab just shows a black screen...
Hi - the differences in the scripts are minimal and, as you correctly proposed, mostly handling C# and C++ interface differences between the platforms.
The final SDK will differ slightly from the beta, although some Android/iOS differences are inevitable.
Ah yes, i'm using unity. Forgot to mention.
It's a shame that i need two machines to be able to publish to both iphone and android. But as long as it's for a few days i can live with that. Thanks for the info, keep me posted when the update for unity 3.4 is out!
By the way, is there any major difference in the csharp scripts for the unity plugin used for android compared to those used for iOS? (I understand the underlying code is very different)
Thats because i'm wrapping your plugin in my own (meta) tracker system to be able to dynamicly assign game objects to markers in unity. (and more)
(I assume you are using Unity.)
The iOS beta release only targets iOS devices. If you want to develop for Android too, you should install the Android Unity extension onto your Macinosh, and use them separately.
Also, please bear in mind that while Unity 3.4 is required for our iOS extension, the Android extension is not compatible with Unity 3.4 yet. Expect to see a maintenance release for the Android version that fixes compatibility with Unity 3.4 very soon.
In due course we intend to provide a solution for targeting both OSes from a single environment, but it is not ready yet.
