Running samples with no changes on iOS6 and the camera image is messed up

July 21, 2012 - 3:43pm #1

Hi,

I have run all of the samples that came with the iOS SDK. The camera view in each on is messed up. It looks like the camera splits the image into a grayscale image and color image and then does not composite them back together properly, so that the color layer is offset from the grayscale layer. The color image is shifted towards the left side of the phone when I hold it in portrait orientation.

The native iPhone camera app and test apps using the image picker do not have this problem. So it looks like there is a problem in the SDK's camera rendering code. Please let me know if there is something I can do to fix this on my end.

Thanks,

Philipp

Hi Philip,

Can you let me know which devices you are having problems with as I have just tried Image Targets on iOS6 Beta 4 on iPad2 and all is fine.

thanks

Running samples with no changes on iOS6 and the camera image

Hi philipphertel,

Many thanks for reporting this problem.

For iOS6 there are known issues to do with orientation both with native samples and with Unity samples, as per these other threads.

iOS 6 Beta Issues Orientation 1

iOS 6 Beta Issues Orientation 2 Unity

At present iOS6 is not supported, and there is currently no date for when this will arrive.  However we have made a note and I will revert back when I have more info.

Thanks for the report Philipp.

You're seeing this with the current iOS native SDK release, or with the iOS Unity extension?

And which version of XCode are you using?
