Video Playback multiple orientations

January 7, 2014 - 1:13am #1

When I'm opening video fullscreen in Video Playback sample, I want it to be in landscape mode. Current sample supports only portrait mode. How can I fix it?

The VideoPlayback fullscreen player supports landscape; however, since the presenting controller (i.e. the AR view controller) is locked in Portrait mode, when the Fll screen MovieViewController is presented, it will also be in Portrait in the first place; so, you need to explicitly trigger a rotation event, for example by rotating the device to portrait and then back to landscape.

If you want to make the video appear directly in landscape, you can achiueve this by enabling autorotation in the sample code of the AR View controller (i.e. the VideoPlaybackViewController), using the same technique demonstrated in the Books sample.

Hopefully it will be fixed in a future release, but I am unable to give you any timeframe.
