Vuforia installer does not run in Mountain Lion.

July 17, 2012 - 12:49pm #1

I downloaded vuforia-sdk-ios-1-5-8.zip, which resulted in vuforia-sdk-ios-1-5-8.app.

When I run the app, the error message is:

“vuforia-sdk-ios-1-5-8.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

The zip has a file size of 33.2 MB, the app is 34 MB.

I am running Mountain Lion, the developer pre-release.

Did you follow the process that siconet describes? - to disable gatekeeper when installing the Vuforia SDK?

The solution posted in this topic https://ar.qualcomm.at/content/installer-doesnt-work-mountain-lion solved my problems. Simply disabling gatekeeper just for installing the vuforia sdk and after that re-enabling it worked for me. i have installed mac osx 10.8 mountain lion on my new mac book air and have already updated my java jre to the latest version.

Check to see whether Gatekeeper is blocking your VM - see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290

Well I have Java already, when I opened vuforia setup for iOS it asked me to install JVM and I did it, but then when I tried to open the setup again it says the that is damaged and that I should move it to the trash. I am using Mountain Lion too but this is final release.

Also you'll want to confirm that you have a JVM installed. I haven't used 10.8, but in Lion you can check this using the following procedure.

  1. Go to Applications > Utilities > Java Preferences.
  2. Open the Java Preferences.
  3. If Java is not installed, you will receive the following message:
“To open “Java Preferences,” you need a Java runtime. Would you like to install one now?”

If there continues to be a problem, please report it to Apple as this is indicates a conflict w/ Install Anywhere

The sizes are correct. Have you tried the Android installer as well?
