I downloaded the SDK and samples and opened VuforiaSamples on my MacAir 10.9/Xcode5/ios7.1 sdk.
Doesn't even come close to compiling, apparently due to missing arch's in the lib, which may be just build settings or something:
ignoring file ../../build/lib/arm/libQCAR.a, missing required architecture i386 in file ../../build/lib/arm/libQCAR.a (2 slices)
Is anyone building on ios7.1sdk and have any pointers?

The simulator doesn't simulate the camera hardware, therefore there isn't actually a reason to support the simulator ;)

Thanks for the note JonnyR. indeed, that's pretty much it :-)
Although, one may argue that we could use the laptop/desktop webcam (if available), potentially, and inject the images through the emulator.
