Camera stretched in Unity

Vuforia SDK Version: 4.2.3 -

Description with steps to reproduce:

i´ve been working on a project for about 2 months, and since ive downloaded the last data set the video background is stretched (something wrong with the ratio).

Using Unity 5.0.2f1 and last vuforia.

The camera still fills the hole area of the display but widens the real image.

Development OS (Mac OS X, Windows, Linux): Windows -

Mobile OS and Version: Andrroid 4.4.2 -

Mobile Device Manufacturer and Model name: Asus memo pad 7 -

Do the Vuforia Sample Applications show the same behavior?: Not tested

Can you also let me know the SDK version that you think the camera worked fine on the device? The stretched issue started happening in only 4.2.3?

OK, so, it definitely looks like a device-specific issue.

I'll check with our team and let you know of any updates.

The application is set to landscape left, and the stretch is only horizontal.

Ok, i tested the 3 settings for the camera, I was using default since day one without any problem.

But now both default and optimize quality give me the stretch.

the optimed_speed its fine, with no strech at all, but creates a margin arround the canvas that doesnt exist in the project.

I also tested with my motorola moto G, and its all fine.

So i think this is a problem from the device it self. 

Ill spend the afternoon testing it some more and then ill post the results later.

So, can you confirm the following:

- do you see the Stretch in Portrait, Landscape or Both ?

- what are the Player Settings for screen orientation: Auto-rotation ,  Landscape Left or Landscape Right ?

- what Camera Mode are you using: MODE_OPTIMZIE_SPEED, MODE_DEFAULT or MODE_OPTIMIZE_QUALITY (you can check this setting in the ARCamera inspector in the Unity Edtor)

Thank you for the feedback,

.... but it didn't work.

Rebuild the project and the cam still stretches the image, and it seems that it is only horizontal.

I got the project only set to landscape and if i turn the tablet in 90 degrees the video stretches verticali (as if the sctrech only afects one axis) .

I just posted here because after 2 days of losting my self in the foruns i couldnt get any solution.

For the last 2 months it worked as it should. i think the problem started when i changed to a new data set.

Did you change anything else beside the Dataset ? 

Perhaps you just need to close the Unity project, delete the "/Library" folder under your project and reopen and rebuild it...

For the last 2 months it worked as it should. i think the problem started when i changed to a new data set.

The tablet is a Asus memo pad 7 model ME176c.

Thanks for the report.

Could you add some details:

  • exact model number of the device
  • does the problem also occurs with the Vuforia Samples (e.g. Image Targets sample app)
  • could you attach one or two screenshots showing the issue (including a comparison screenshot between the AR view and the normal Camera view of the device as taken from the built-in Camera app)
